The East Coast Trail is one of the most amazing places to elope. Simple, beginner-level hikes (that yes, you can do in a wedding dress) with epic views of the Atlantic, as well as the city of St. John’s. E & A planned a simple and elegant elopement on the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Our first stop was Sugarloaf trail overlooking Quidi Vidi, a fishing village in the heart of St. John’s. It’s an adorable trail just minutes from downtown and gives great views out over the village.
It was a classic St. John’s day, with the sun trying to peek out through the fog!
After their jaunt around the harbour, we drove to the next trailhead in Torbay, where we met their officiant and and walked through the woods to the ceremony location on the cliff.
They had their ceremony overlooking Torbay Point. Craig Murphy, their officiant, played their favourite music from Lord of the Ring and they had their first dance right after they said I do – such a sweet touch.
After the ceremony we walked around the point and took in the views of the cliffs and ocean for a little bit while they soaked in the giddiness of being married. It was a simple, perfect day.
