I’m Alex Stead, a photographer in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador
I bring over a decade of experience to each project I work on; whether that’s your intimate elopement or wedding, media shoot with a publication, or a branding photo session, I would love to chat to see how I can best bring my skills to bring your vision to life. I have worked with brands such as Lululemon and Walmart, provided stills for tv shows and commercials, and have photographed over 500 weddings in my career. I also mentor new and aspiring photographers in running long-term consistent businesses. I enjoy staying up-to-date on trends and education, and even fourteen years in, am constantly working on my craft.
My goal is to capture photos that tell a beautiful story. I would love to be a part of yours.
When we work together, you can expect to feel heard + seen; I take great pride in creating space for my clients to share their ideas and excitement for their photos. Photography is a collaboration and I love getting to know my clients and their desires before we ever press the shutter.
When I’m not working, you can often find me exploring the island of Newfoundland! I am usually hiking/fishing/foraging, or, simply hanging out in my jellybean row neighbourhood (you’ll probably see me and my rescue kitty Parsnip sitting on our front step having our morning coffee if you happen to be passing by). I love this island with my whole heart, and I especially love showing it off to visitors.
