Gros Morne National Park is such a treasure – there is so much to do and see in the park that it was nearly impossible to narrow down what to do and where to go for photos on the wedding day! Fjords, fishing villages, The Tablelands, amazing cliffs and coasts – there are so many options for having your wedding in Gros Morne.
On Mel and Jordan’s wedding day, we decided to go for a little drive in the early afternoon from Lomond to Trout River, taking in the views and stopping along the way, and spent the rest of the day back at camp celebrating with family and friends.
Jordan and Melanie met at Killdevil camp as kids (Jordan’s mom loves to tell the story of sweet little Melanie, the figure skater). It was only fitting that years later they decided to throw a destination wedding back at camp! They planned the cutest summer camp themed wedding. For the whole weekend we ate at the mess hall, played games, had fires and drank beer out of a canoe (filled with ice that the residents of Mel’s hometown spent all year freezing to fill up). This wedding was so full of love and joy and friendship and I couldn’t be happier to share the photos.
We started the day at camp where Mel and Jordan got ready in the cabins. Once they were ready we went for a little drive to the Tablelands were they had an emotional first look.
We had a bit of time left over after their first look, so instead of going right back to camp we decided to take a little drive down the coast to Trout River. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a couple so relaxed before the ceremony!
Celebrating with a bottle of bubbly (in camp mugs of course, to stay on theme!)
With all the fun over it was time to head back to camp! I don’t think there was a dry eye in the field as Mel’s grandparents performed the ceremony.
